IPD

IPD

In Progress I continued to call this Animation. Couldn’t think of a name of it. Then when it was done, it was In Progess Done. So, IPD seems fitting. This animation was just some more tests and fun for myself. I couldn’t be bothered to add a replay button, so forgive me on that.

Flash Project #4

21 05 2008

I started this project ages ago but didn’t get past a blank screen. Now I’m actually animating a bit but it’s far from done. There’s no story and no point, just simple, fun animating for my own experience. Here’s the running motion I managed to whip up.

Oh, and here’s a comic I made in flash while I was bored.

Dead Fantasy II

24 03 2008
Montyoum, the skilled 3d animator and action scene director (freelance personal work) finished Dead Fantasy II recently this week and uploaded it to his chosen host of video networking, Gametrailers.

I couldn’t find any info on his work, he just posted it on the Internet but he did show its premier… eh, somewhere… I didn’t really listen since I only watch his work casually.

He let his fans know on Mon Mar 24, 2008, 12:49 PM with his DA Journal.

Am I going to comment on how good or bad it was? Nah. Although I will give reasons why his work is so liked.

  1. All female cast – works in Anime… so it was a smart move to get attention.
  2. Completely action based – People like action, I know I do.
  3. Lone Wolf – He shows anyone can be awesome if they practice, a good man.
  4. Update – He gives info on the production of his works, keeping his fans posted and feeling involved.

Note, I have no ownership over DF 1 or 2 or any of the characters involved. All DF works belong to montyoum.

The Fall

THE FALL ANIMATION

I made this real short, looping animation of a red figure falling from a very high point in a city. This is a test of my skill in depicting movement. It was BLAMMED on Newgrounds for being too shit an animation, even though it was just to upload as a test and use here to show my work process and general portfolio. But, I guess they expected a real long animation or something, despite me stating it was a test. So I uploaded to my own website server thing. SwfUp doesn’t accept my files as .swf anymore, despite them being fully .swf. I guess it’s just not my day.

I get (and got 1 on this one) a few reviews saying I rely on tweening too much, because the animation is so obviously smoothly tweened and no noob can draw all of that with such patience. Well, all I’ll have to say is that I never used tweening for this animation, 2.5 and only for some of the backgrounds in BG Test. The rest is my manual hand movement frame by frame, and drawing frame by frame. The hard, but more rewarding (most of the time) way.
