Yamamori Awesome

27 05 2008

That’s actually the exact one I visited
I recently went to a Japanese Restaurant, Yamamori Noodles. All I can say is WOW. I’m really into Japanese food.

I ordered Teppan Chicken Teriyaki, a side order of noodles and a club orange. Damn is Japanese food filling! Now I know how they have so much energy! They make me seem like a starving, malnourished homeless person! I can safely say, that even though I didn’t taste THAT much Japanese there, I’m definitely into their food and I seriously consider going back sometime in the future.

The atmosphere was friendly and not intimidating, the prices were very affordable and of course, the food was excellent, cooked-to-order. I got my main serving placed in front of me as expected, but what surprised me was the steam coming of it! I could still see and hear the juices boiling, straight from the kitchen, freshly cooked to my table, ready for me to chow down.

I used chop-sticks, which was a bad idea since I have very limited experience with them. My teacher (not saying sensei because I sound too nerdy) ordered the waiter to be and speak Japanese. (Well, he didn’t turn Japanese from order, we, she asked for a Japanese waiter. I jest.) I had to order in Japanese, too, which wasn’t too hard since I ordered just like I do in most restaurants… say the name of the dish. Only this time using, “To,” instead of and. Lucky me. I finally got the hang of the chop sticks at the end of the dinner, finishing off my noodles, which basically made me on the brink of explosion. Teacher noticed that I got the hang of it and told me, which was a really nice surprise because I thought I was being stupid.

The only bad thing I could remember was the chair I was sitting on. I was in a group of around a dozen, and I got the minority seat. Not he huge comfortable leather one neatly placed against the wall. I got a tall chair outside of that with four legs. It was probably my bad posture but my back started to hurt and I don’t think there was enough room for all four people to sit there. I was almost leaning left a bit to avoid the corner of the table.

Other than that, it was great meal. Just a recommendation from me… however that may not be saying much, I only eat out in town on very rare occasion.

Is this a review? Hell no, that would be rude to the people who served me. This is just a friendly thumbs up from yours truly… RN.
