Resident Evil 5: Revealed Voice Cast

30 09 2007
Resident Evil has once again shown that things never really die. Once again we will be seeing the supposed dead return, but this time they’re really making us scratch our heads whilst we wait for the series to reveal it’s secrets. Just take a look below at the latest voices for Resident Evil 5. Those with ‘*’ are ones which are the most curious…

Alyson Court – *Yoko Suzuki*
Tara Platt – Jill Valentine
Michael Gough – *Osmund Saddler*
Wendee Lee – Rita
Richard Waugh – Albert Wesker
Sally Cahill – Ada Wong (voice)
James Harper – *Ozwell E. Spencer*
Dan Cool – Steve Burnside

Now I think I speak for all RE fans when I say “Isn’t THAT interesting”.

Let’s start with the obvious. Saddler was BLOWN UP by Leon was he not? Yet, somehow he has returned in whatever form. Being returned to a human form I belive won’t happen. If his corpse (what corpse?) or DNA was gathered by Umbrella, they wouldn’t pass up a good chance to experiment and develop now would they?

Either way we can expect some evil plan to be played out by our lovely Saddler, little or not. Even if his actual human appearing body was returned to him, I expect signs of battle or further experimentation to show.

Next, Spencer, the main man who created the Umbrella Corporation and has never appeared in any of the games at all. We can only predict what possible motives the man who CREATED Umbrella has for RE5. Unless he’s seen the light in his child creating Bio-weapons and havoc on the world is bad, my guess is that he will only be more that happy to bring back the old days, Umbrella spreading fear among the world etc.

Yoko, the little Innocent student in the ‘Outbreak’ series it seems will be joining RE5. Her deal in ‘O’ was she erased her own memory, being her history with Umbrella was too much to bare. So more characters from the ‘O’ series, including the NPC Rita…This brings the idea that future RE’s containing the other main ‘O’ characters very likely indeed. Maybe not a bigger role than Yoko since ‘she was directly involved with Umbrella’, but as small appearances that will make the ‘O’ fans smile.

Her motive in RE5 will no doubt be seeing the end of Umbrella, considering she erased her mind trying to forget whatever specifically happened, and the fact Umbrella itself nearly killed her in the escape of Racoon City.

The news of all these characters proves most interesting I say again. Veterans such as Wesker and Jill will surely keep the classic RE feel in the balance of RE5, despite once again the RE4 3rd person system being used again. Many preferred the classic, still, difficult camera angles before RE4 came along.

Will RE5 be able to keep those so far loyal RE fans within its arms? Or will this repeat of 3rd person play be the last straw. Well…

With the graphics looking absolutely amazing..

The enemy’s being as difficult as ever

And the story appearing secretive and oh-so tempting as usual…I say yes.

Bloody Capcom…

Devil May Cry 4: Music, & Revisits.

26 09 2007
It took me countless times before I realised, but there’s something I’ve come to notice about the TGS 07 Devil May Cry 4 trailer. After admiring beyond measure, all aspects of the wonderful footage and sounds, it was then I noticed something about the last half of it…
Now we all should know that the first half of the music, besides the short little classic intro, is the re-do of the short version of ‘Devils Never Cry’, otherwise known officially from the DMC 3 OST as “M-8 Start (Back Down Tower/Battle Music)”. If you’re not sure, it’s that great tune where Dante has just Devil Triggered for the first time and runs down the side of the tower, blasting away with style.

Back to my point. The last half of the trailer’s music, you know that nice love song playing during most of Nero’s troubling times with his sister, Kyrie (which I might add, brings out the drama well, of what appears to be some conspiracy amongst the ‘Order Of The Sword’).

Well if you listen carefully, it seems to resemble Vergil’s presence moments in DMC3. Let me help you specifically remember what I’m talking about.

Remember the chants eventually followed on by the classic music playing here? That’s Vergil’s theme in my view, and is what I’m referring too for the DMC4 trailer. And again below.

Once again, the same theme, just different instruments. Now take that, and listen carefully to the last half of the soft background tune in the trailer…
((NOTE: You can find the trailer by clicking on the ‘DMC‘ tag.))

See? It resembles the same theme as Vergil from DMC3. This brings me to my question…
Since his theme is playing to Nero, and we all believe with the quote ‘From that day forth, my heart changed. And a voice echoed…Power…Give me more Power!” was indicating Vergil somehow was inside the Devil Bringer. Will Vergil be more involved in DMC4 than we thought, if at all? Or, is this JUST another tune re-do, like ‘Devils Never Cry’.

It’s truly got my anticipation soaring to find out. I mean, to have Dante, Nero AND Vergil in one show…now that would be just SSStylish. I suspect however, if Capcom were going to involve Vergil more in DMC4, they would have given more indication for more hype. They’re not one for nice surprises, just to boil your blood, making you want it so bad you’d have to kill someone to get it…
We can only sit and wait, to find out if Vergil truly makes ‘some’ interesting place in DMC4, again, if at all. Don’t get me wrong, the game looks beyond amazing at this moment and I believe it will be a triumph. But even the little things can shape a game worthy to be SSSylish

Rigid

24 09 2007
The animation (which still has no name) is making a painfully slow progress but I am getting better and better at making backgrounds. I think my careful placing of ambience sound is helping the backgrounds come alive. I now know how to shade flawlessly. Shading of the entire room is much more important than shading of objects.

I’m thinking of something like this for SSStylish Animations Logo

I’ve decided to go with stick figures again. The advancement in background is enough of a step for me so staying with stick figures is a smart choice as I am comfortable with animating them and I’ll need them in the strange environments of backgrounds. The backgrounds themselves are quite experimental. I recently learned how to use Movie Clips, too. However, I still can’t master them to work for the sticks walking, so that will take some more practice. But I did manage to create this:

It’s a fan that will loop in the background. In honesty, that is rather rigid and not at all smooth. However, I fixed it recently and it is a lot smoother than the one above. I just have not got the time to export that lone object again. Speaking of objects… I’ve come to rely on them a lot. Them along with layers, scenes and symbols. I have so many and just for a short animation. It can get kind of frustrating with all the things on screen at once but I’m managing to keep my head on straight, despite the amount of study I must do in my personal life. But… that’s another story for another day.

I use every last one of these

Devil May Cry 4 – Back

21 09 2007
It seems there was a longer version of the trailer in my last DMC related post. In it displayed quite a lot more things. One, Nero is Emo. Two, this:

Lady’s back…

…and has matured

Trish is back…

…and has hips

Basically, they’re all back. Even pizza has made a return.

This is kind of old news to some people. Just to calm some folk, no news or even hint of Vergil has come up. Nobody expects him to be in this one.
